Community Service Starts Young

The Pre-K students with all the bags of clothes and shoes collected for the migrant children.

The Day School believes very strongly in community service and we always look to be involved in a community service project that is meaningful for the children. Our school works to develop compassionate, empathetic and thoughtful citizens who understand that they are part of many communities. We will often have parents come up with causes that are close to their heart that can involve the children. When some of the parents heard about the migrants arriving in our city, they knew something had to be done and approached the school to get involved.

One Always Matters is an organization that exemplifies this philosophy. After speaking with Bindia and hearing what was needed, we decided to run a clothing drive for children. When we started the clothing drive in October, the students were so eager to pass along their own previously loved clothing to kids just like them. Each day they came to school, they watched the piles of bags get taller and taller! The kids were thrilled to be able to help other children in the community.

We look forward to partnering with One Always Matters again.
